Today there is a graduation in our family!
I am so proud of my daughter and her accomplishments. She has really 'buckled down' and demonstrated her ability to learn and perform in an academic way.
What has impressed me has been that she never resisted the extra effort. She did what was needed to do. And then – she learned her lesson that her human will is a very powerful tool for her.
She understands that she is a minority over here – but has a good gift at simply getting along and dwelling on the common good as opposed to differences.
She has a global outlook (something quite rare here in Jerusalem), and is ecologically minded.
All this wraps up in the word: CARE
She cares for her friends, she cares for her family, she cares for the environment in which she lives, and she cares about herself.
And just so that it is clear – as a parent, I am thankful most of all for her unswerving love of God. It isn't easy growing up as a Christian kid here – but she's doing it – and I dare say;
To the Glory of God.
