Today is Israel's day of Independence marking the States' 62nd year.
It's a full holiday with most things closed – that leaves everyone going out.
We headed out with some other families to a local park and did what most Israeli's do – had a bar-b-q!
It was a hot day, and even hotter over the coals – but pleasant with a slight breeze to cool us down in the shade of the Cyprus trees.
There were numerous fly-overs including that of civilian El Al (Israel's largest airline carrier) to keep people entertained on the ground.
This is the time of year where Jewish youth from all over the globe descend in masse so there are extra traffic jams, lots of noise, and a bit of a crazy spirit running the streets of the Old City.
Have a fantastic week!
