Happy Valentine's Day!
Over here in Israel it is not generally celebrated in any significant way…
However amongst the Christian Community's it is present – so lets reflect on the celebration.
Love is a commandment – one that Jesus gave us to fulfill.
We are to love God, with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength – in everything we do!
And it's easy to love some people… and harder perhaps for some to fulfill loving your neighbor… or maybe even to keep God's commandment to love one's spouse.
But we can take comfort in God's Word to us that tells us He won't let us get into something we can't get through – and He is there to help.
Sometimes it may not feel that way – but this is where our faith must exercise itself.
One thing easy that we can do – which can effect us in a positive way, everyone around us, is to be an encourager!
Remember this; the reason we have love to give to others is because He – in His great Love – gave everything for us!
We got love from Jesus – and we light that fire of love and pass it on to someone else…
This highlights the importance of one's actions… we have to strive to demonstrate God's love by how we think, talk, and pray – yes pray.
Communication is a part of any relationship along with spending time with that special someone. It is no different with God – prayer is speaking with Him and reading His Word is spending time listening to Him.
So for all of you dear folks out there – Happy Valentine's Day as you move about… You are loved by God, and He asks you to love others, and He Loves being with you – just perhaps as that special someone in your life does too!
