As I mentioned on today's Harvest Show broadcast, I am providing you with the latest details on the assassination of the senior Hamas figure, Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh, in Dubai January 20th.
The investigation just continues to get more complicated.
Lets start with what's happening in Gaza, the Hamas is searching for a mole as sources within the organization have acknowledged that in the past few days they have carried out an internal investigation in order to who, if anyone, assisted in Mabhouh's killing.
In Israel, one of the large daily newspaper's somehow has obtained a bill paid allegedly by the assistant commander of the hit team. It is being trailed.
Of course the big news is that the investigation has now jumped to 17 individuals wanted by the Dubai police – in addition to the two Palestinians being held. Britain has come out saying officially that the assassins used eight British passports.
But as Chuck mentioned, the international fallout continues as most notably, French President Nicolas Sarkozy has said the murder of Al-Mabhouh was unjustifiable. The French President sharply condemned the elimination in Dubai and declared that France cannot countenance such executions.
As I mentioned during the broadcast, Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman is in Brussels. He basically says that there is a tendency in the Arab world to blame Israel for everything. He's right, but his answer to the press is just too good not to mention. Speaking to journalists at the European Union's Foreign Ministers Conference, he said, “You (the press) watch too many James Bond movies.”
The Ministers, issued a condemnation of the use of EU passports in Dubai, but did not mention Israel by name as the perpetrator.
That's the latest – we'll continue to keep you posted.
